Professional garden care, fencing and tree care throughout the Weald of Kent
Based in Sissinghurst, in the heart of the Garden of England, Kent Gardening provides professional gardening, fencing and tree care services for gardens and properties throughout the Weald of Kent.
We work with homeowners, tenants, local and town councils, and small businesses, providing practical and reliable services tailored to the needs of each garden and property. From regular garden maintenance and planting to specialist tree care and fencing, we take pride in delivering a high standard of workmanship with a straightforward, personal approach.
Our Approach
We believe good garden care is about more than simply keeping an outdoor space tidy. Understanding how plants, trees and gardens develop over time allows us to provide more thoughtful and effective care, whether we are maintaining an established garden, developing new planting or managing trees.
Our approach combines practical experience with sound horticultural knowledge, helping gardens remain healthy, attractive and enjoyable throughout the seasons. We aim to work with gardens over the long term, supporting their development through careful maintenance, planting, pruning and seasonal care.
Our Background
Kent Gardening was founded in 2011 by James Sharp with the aim of providing high-quality gardening services to the local community.
Growing up with a strong interest in gardening, James was inspired by his father, who spent more than 40 years working in the horticultural industry. After spending four years studying Horticulture at Hadlow College, James followed in his father’s footsteps and developed Kent Gardening around a commitment to practical, knowledgeable and reliable garden care.
Over the years, the business has grown and expanded its range of services while retaining its original focus on providing a professional and personal service to local customers. In 2017, Kent Gardening was formally incorporated, and the business has since worked with a diverse range of residential, local authority and commercial clients.
