Two sandstone patios connected by a sandstone path were requested for this garden in Hawkhurst. This enables the owner to catch the sun at various times of the day and the borders have been filled with mixed shrubs and herbaceous plants

This front garden in Staplehurst was cleared of brambles and shrubs and transformed with a freshly laid lawn complete with a colourful Photinia hedge planted around to give interest and eventually privacy

This challenging space in Headcorn with lots of doors, drain lids and a split level to consider was given a makeover with an Ocean grey limestone patio with curved brick features to match the house

This unique triangle of land was acquired by a client in Benenden and was redeveloped to include a new greenhouse, raised beds built from reclaimed sleepers for growing vegetables and herbs

We constructed these composting bays in Benenden from preserved timber and included round top posts to match the new fence installed next to it. The slats on the front are removable to aid access to the compost

These large compost bays in Frittenden were constructed from preserved timber and designed to allow a ride on lawn tractor to reverse in and tip the grass directly into the bays

This simple step unit was installed in Sissinghurst using preserved timber sleepers with pebble infilled treads

This was the most challenging path installation ever undertaken by us in Smarden using small sandstone setts to create a path to the gate or to the garage. A curved split path can be a beautiful main feature within any garden

Dogs and people sometimes need segregation from each other and the rest of the garden. This removable picket fence panel is a simple solution added to a garden we designed and built in Smarden

This garden in Smarden was designed and built by us in 2023 over a period of three months. The design included Italian porcelain paving with sweeping curves edged with limestone setts, a corner patio which catches the sun complete with a triangular Oak pergola. The borders have since been planted with mixed trees, shrubs and herbaceous plants

We do love a challenge, and this triangular Oak pergola in Smarden took a lot of thought and skills to produce. The posts are mounted on stainless steel feet to prevent them from rotting. The curved shape to the front of the top beams echoes the shape of the patio beneath it

Stainless steel tensioned wires make the best framework for climbing plants over pergolas and other structures. This system was installed on top of the Oak pergola in Smarden

Muddy dogs and wellington boots are a common sight in the Kent countryside during the winter months. This simple solution gives the owner an opportunity to tie off the dogs lead and wash away the mud with warm water even in the depths of winter

First impressions count, as does kerb appeal, and in Smarden even the front path and porch entrance to the house was given a makeover with porcelain paving and limestone edge setts

This lawn area in the back garden of a new build house in Hawkhurst was suffering from poor drainage due to bad soil preparation by the builders. We removed the old grass and replaced the top layer of soil with a good quality top soil and laid fresh turf
