It is very rare for trees to never need some form of attention during its lifetime.

Some trees require crown lifting to remove obstructive lower branches or others require reducing in overall size as they have grown too large for their space.

Trees do come to the end of their lives through age, physical damage or infection and need removing completely.

We also supply and plant new trees, and provide aftercare.

This tricky tree removal in Maidstone was spread over several gardens and required additional rigging ropes to bring the branches safely back into the landing zone

Trees sometimes become a liability such as this Beech tree in Bickley which had extensive faults and rot within its main structure

Rot will eventually compromise the stability of a tree and this is particularly common in Beech trees as seen here in Bickley

Trees fail and fall over, usually during strong winds and storms in winter. This old Willow tree failed and took out the fence during one such storm. Once the tree was removed, we also repaired the fence

Fungi sometimes show around the base of a tree which can be indicative of problems inside the tree structure. A proper survey is advised in order to understand the extent of the problem

Conifer trees can be difficult to reduce without compromising their appearance and usually require removal once they get too big. This large Cryptomeria in Goudhurst was cleared to allow a more suitable replacement tree to be planted

Once a tree has been removed, the stump remains under the ground. Here a stump grinder is used to remove the stump and allow the planting of another tree in the same space

If a tree stump is still solid then it can be carved into a cool feature in the garden

Woodlands require proper management. This Chestnut coppice in Paddock Wood is maintained as a green corridor between two housing estates. The regrowth will provide a habitat for wildlife, and the extra sunlight promotes more Bluebells

Pleaching is another form of pruning trees to form a tall hedge like structure. Pleached trees have regained their popularity in recent years to provide additional privacy between neighbouring gardens

Conifer hedges are often neglected and left to grow too tall. Reducing them hard can work in some instances and is best carried out from a cherry picker access platform
